Picture Day! (8 Months)

Dear Jericho,
Since you, Daddy and I were sick most of your 7th month we couldn't take pictures in January with Tim because he just had a new baby and Mommy was afraid of us getting him (or them) sick. So we stayed away. Sorry.. But You have PLENTY of other pictures thanks to the Project 365 blog that Mommy has going on over there. I'll make another post for those.

However, we did jump on your 8th month pictures quick this month since we missed the ones last month. It was a beautiful day outside, about 70 degrees and rather windy. Tim came down to Rancho Sahuarita, where we live, and we went Park hopping. That's the beautiful thing about living in Rancho is that there are so many parks for you to play at. Many grass areas within a 5 minute walk. Well... you don't like grass. Right now. Let's hope that changes.

When Mommy and Daddy were picking your name, we wanted something unique and "STRONG" for the little man that you would grow up to be. We were hoping you would like it. Daddy was also hoping to set you up for life so that you could be a wrestler.. Don't follow Daddy's dreams for you. It'll just end up with you having a broken back and have tons of bumps and bruises for Mommy to worry about.. Anyway, We'll save that rant for another day.

I am not sure you like your name.. I'm going to pretend it was just the sand and you were cold.  I love pictures of you crying though!! I personally love your name.

You hated the sand, but you can't really tell in this picture. Again, I think it was cold and you just didn't like it. We'll wait for the day to be warmer and Mommy will take you back out for some sand fun. Too bad the sand isn't really sand.. Otherwise we could build fun stuff in it. Anyway... Here is another one
You didn't like the sand, you didn't like the grass, you didn't like the concrete. You just wanted to be held. It was just one of those days.
So we gave you a Baby Mum-Mum (AKA COOKIE) to cheer you up a bit. It worked for a while.

As Always, Daddy was able to cheer you up with his famous Airplane ride that he gives you. Pretty much all the time. We do this when you are getting a diaper change or when we need your mood to change.. QUICK. It works...
Before you melted down into a pit of the unhappy baby you became yesterday. We did manage to get some good pictures.

OH! And you wave now. But you do it backwards. We don't mind though. Its a combination of the sign that you do for "MILK" and a wave. We're working on it, but we know what you mean. You were waving in this picture. I'm glad we caught it. It was an accident, but you gotta take what you can get.

As Always, I love them. Oh.. Did you notice Mommy's new haircut? Yep.. All Because of you!! My little boy likes to pull my hair, so I had to chop it off! I think it makes me look younger, and skinny. Well.. A Mommy can dream right?

8 Months Old!

Dear Jericho,
Where has the time gone? I don't know what it is about being a Mommy (since I'm new at this whole thing) but I use to roll my eyes when people would say "it goes by fast" Seriously.. It does. I don't really remember being pregnant anymore, but I do remember the day you were born and your first few sleepless days home. Those days are gone now and have been replaced with some sleep consistency, a house full of toys and we now have this adorable little guy crawling around the house getting into trouble.
You now know the word "NO" and depending on your mood or the situation, you either stop and look at Mommy (or Daddy) and continue getting into trouble or you throw a huge fit and Mommy has to walk away. Notice I didn't say Mommy (or Daddy) in that instance.. you only throw fits for Mommy (and Auntie Melissa when she's watching you) One of the "NO JERICHO" times was when you decided to pull the night light out from the electrical socket. Then you tried licking the socked. LICKING THE SOCKET.. Really? Who does that? My baby does..
I took this before you tried licking the electrical socket.
Needless to say, Mommy has also incorporated "DANGER" your vocabulary. I figured this would be better than "NO" because I am not saying "NO" because I'm just being a Mommy who doesn't want her kid to do anything.. I'm saying "NO" because I'm being a Mommy who doesn't want to end up on the News for being the "MOM" who's baby got really hurt falling out of a shopping cart, licking an electrical socket or touching the oven when there is dinner being cooked. All of these things have flashed before my eyes in the recent week. You would think that I was not paying attention to you, but in reality I take you with me EVERYWHERE (even the potty) and I am always nearby to "Save" you from the havoc you are attempting.  to cause. Speaking of falling out of shopping carts I give you exhibit A and B
You are blurry because you are JUMPING in the shopping cart!!!

Mommy holding onto you so you don't fall into the main part of the shopping cart

Now that you have Mastered crawling, we've "baby proofed" the entire house. Moved everything up that we don't want you into and after the whole licking the electrical outlets incident all electrical outlets in our house are now baby proofed.

A couple days ago Daddy was awesome (he's always awesome) enough to put up Brown Bear decals up in your bedroom. You LOVE Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you See, The Book and we own every one of them now. I even have one on my Nook so I can read it to you electronic style. We move around the room telling the story and including the Giraffe and the Owl that I painted on the wall. You really like this. In fact, sometimes when you take off crawling around the house, you end up in your room crawling up the wall and yelling (cute girl scream.. yep I said it) at the Brown Bear on the wall.

You are beginning to be a handful my little guy. I'm loving mostly every minute of it and I'm trying to remember the good times and not the Jericho throwing a fit times. Regardless, you are my little man growing up right in front of my eyes. I love it, but really.. you don't have to grow up so fast. Chill out and enjoy being a baby for a bit. You have it made..

Love You Bunches
