365 Days old.. Round 2!

Let the balloon bash continue!! You loved these balloons. We had them in every room of the house (including the kitchen and bathrooms) and you at least had a balloon every where you went. The party continued after you got better from your Hand-Foot-Mouth and we invited everyone over to party with us.

This party was themed Elmo, because well.. You LOVE elmo. (AKA "lala") We had a bunch of kids over and you had a lot of fun running around with them. Mommy rolled out all the stops and created as many things "Elmo" themed as I possibly could. The cookies (which you didn't eat.. sorry) were great. They were chocolate dipped oreos with Elmo candies on top. There were also Elmo goodie bags too filled with Elmo themed goodies!

and everything else was red! We had the food (Subway) on red platters and the drinks were in a red bin. It was pretty awesome.. and did I mention there were a lot of kids there?

You can even see the fruit platter with elmo sticking out of the fruit! Ms. Kaytee, who was your baby sitter when you were first born and I had to go back to work (she was over on Mondays) also came to celebrate your first birthday, but she loved you so much then and she loves you now.
and of course, Barbara and Audrey were there too!! Audrey wouldn't miss your first birthday, since you were there for hers!
and then there was cake!!! Lots and lots of cake. We ordered a plain white cake from the grocery store and Ms. Jenn (Your baby sitter.. who loves you lots!) made the elmo on top. I will admit, sadly, it's now September as I write this and your left over elmo cake is still in the fridge.. It's still cute!

We all sang Happy Birthday to you, and you ate the cake and loved it. You also loved the red bin that the drinks were stored in. With ice.. You like Ice, and it's cold!

so your party was filled with Kids, Elmo, Cake and.. Ice.. cold cold ice!!

Hope you had fun. Even though you won't remember this special day. Mommy will, and hopefully you will look at these pictures and know Mommy loves you so much, she threw you a big boy elmo bash :)

Love you lots

365 Days Old

Dear Jericho,
Happy Official One Year Birthday!! On June 3, 2012 you became 365 days old! We've had a great 365 days, and I am happy to report Mommy doesn't feel so crazy anymore. You are sleeping well, mostly, and you are just an overall happy baby. Except for when you are not :)

You love Elmo a LOT as I talked about in another post. We decided since you have a great love for Elmo, your first birthday would be ELMO themed.  Also, because you are a special baby you got 2 birthdays! One birthday when Grandma Janice came to visit and the other when Grandma Peggy came to visit. I hope you can tell how much your Grandma's love you because they came so they could party with you for your first big birthday!

Your first birthday party was not big at all. We had originally planned for your birthday party to be on your actual birthday, but you ended up getting Hand-Foot-Mouth. It's basically a fever accomponied by a rash (pimple like) all over your body. This is a highly contagious virus which is spread along little kids. Since we were planning on having at least 10 little kids over for your birthday, we had to postpone it to be safe and courteous to the kiddos and their parents. That doesn't mean that Mommy didn't try her hardest to make your day special. Let's talk about Balloons!

The night of your birthday Mommy and Sissy sat on the floor in the family room (Pirate Room) and blew up balloons until we couldn't feel our cheeks anymore! I then snuck into your room and filled it with balloons. We played with balloons for the day, and weeks to come!

I don't normally include blurry pictures, but this one is blurry because you were bouncing and grabbing the balloons and having so much fun!
For breakfast, we had birthday cake cupcakes, scrambled eggs and fruit. You loved it!!

We spent the day playing in the balloons more, and ended the night with cake and playing with Chalk on the driveway.  I am sure you had a great day. Mommy can't believe you are already one, but I love watching you grow, run, scream, giggle but not cry.. crying is not fun. :)

and did I mention cake?

Happy Birthday booger. I love you

11 Months... Let the parties begin!

Dear Jericho,

As you can probably tell you are not 11 months now, but Mommy was very busy and wasn't able to do your 11 month post. But I am now :)

When Mommy found out she was pregnant with you she became friends with a big group of ladies who were having babies that would be the same age as you. They are called the "May Mommys" that is actually how she met Barbara, and Audrey was a May baby.

So starting in May there are tons of birthdays. In addition to Mother's Day of course! We went to Audrey's first birthday party and you had a great time. You were officially walking around like a Pro and you were running all around the Lyon's house waddling as you went. It was an adorable sight for me to see.

At Audrey's party you also got your first taste of Chocolate cake.. off the floor. You really like to eat food off the floor, i'm not really sure if the dirt and germs just make it taste better, but you are a boy so I figured that is probably part of it as well.

Audrey's birthday party was the first baby party you've been invited to. It will always be memorable for Mommy. You love Audrey so much!

Now.. let's talk about Mother's Day. In May, there is a day especially for Mommy's. To remind you to show them how much you love them and make them feel special.  I don't really think you have this down yet, because Daddy bought me and iPod, which is what I asked for. This is what you got me :

You spilled out the entire thing of cat food. It was everywhere. So for Mother's day we sat down and had some quality time trying to clean up the cat food you spilled. You really like to play with cat food.

We also took our first family trip to Toys R Us. You really liked it. This is when we learned (Daddy and I) that you REALLY REALLY REALLY like Elmo... Like you LOVE Elmo. It's quite adorable.
We bought you a couple Elmo things there, but we also bought you a Pirate Ship. It's pretty awesome.

I think overall 11 months was a good month for you!

By the way, you are growing up too quick :(

Love you bunches

Learning to Walk - 10 1/2 months old

Dear Jericho,
Congratulations on learning how to walk. You learned to walk very early which is good and bad. You started really trying to walk after we came home from California for Easter. You stumbled around for a week or so before you took off. I am very proud of you.

Love Mommy

Where has the time gone? (10 months)

Dear Jericho,
Why are you growing up so fast? Is it because you are excited to make an imprint on the world... other than in your Mommy's heart? You are blowing my mind with all of the things you do. Your smiles, your girly screams, your steps. They are all going by so fast. I told your Dad the other night how I remember when you were freshly new and how we lived our life day by day, hour by hour, depending on your feeding or sleeping schedule for that time. We've gradually progressed to you sleeping through the night most nights around the time you were 10 months old. I appreciate it.. It's nice to get a good night sleep. Even when you don't sleep through the night, you are up one or two times a night. I sometimes look forward to those nights because I sneak you into our bed and we cuddle together in our dreams.
Waking up with you is comical. You will wake up by either hitting or kicking me during your stretches or attempt to get your blanket in just the right position. Then you peak your little head up after rubbing your eyes, turn away from me and start hitting Daddy in the face and say "Dada Dada Dada" until he opens his eyes and says good morning. Sure, I could stop you from hitting him, but I don't think he minds because he's always in love with how you say Dada. There's no "MAMA" there's only Dada. As jealous as I am.. I let you guys have your morning time together when you beat him. :)
Well, Happy April. April is the month of Easter. I'll spare you the entire saga of Easter but in addition to Easter we celebrate the coming of spring. Spring is a great season.. if you're not in the desert. Grass greens up, trees sprout leaves and animals move about with their newly born babies. In the desert, we get nice weather and maybe a couple showers. So that you were not deprived of the beauty of spring, I took you to California for Easter... on your 2nd trip to California on an airplane. Of course you did wonderful and you had a lot of fun. You met the Easter Bunny
Welcomed spring in Grandma's backyard. See how pretty the grass and the flowers are?
Met the Turtles.. and tried to yank one of their heads off.

You took some time out of your busy day to pose for a picture with me ...

and played with Easter Eggs. We were determined to teach you how to put eggs in the basket for Easter the next day. It was a success.
Then Easter came. We went to Great Grandpa's house. You were fantastic. You got all of the easter eggs I handed you and you would put them in your bucket. Then you would dump out the bucket and start putting the eggs back in.

You also met your second cousins and paused for a photo op

We came home on Easter evening and got home a little past your bedtime. The Easter bunny had apparently come in the morning and left your basket on the counter. It was all ready for you.

You really liked your Easter basket. It was filled with fun stuff for you to play with. See that bunny right there.. You love him. He's your buddy and you were sleeping today during nap time holding the bunny by his ear so that he didn't go anywhere while you were catching up on your sleep.
